Synopsis
Gido is a Heavens Arena fighter and one of the three who ambushed Gon and Killua on the 200th floor, together with Sadaso and Riehlvelt.
He lost the lower half of his body in his first arena fight and now walks on a metal peg prosthetic, supporting himself with a wooden cane. From the torso up he is covered by a red robe and conical hat with a breathing mask underneath; his face has never been seen.
Like his accomplices, Gido is ruthless and willing to kidnap and blackmail to get what he wants. He intends to become a Floor Master for the money and the fame despite lacking the strength, and so only fights weaker opponents. A distinct sadism runs through him — he cackles while inflicting pain.
He too once reached the 200th floor without knowing Nen and lost his legs in the "initiation". Before facing the boys he had four wins and one loss, having never lost since his injury. His style is built around Nen-enhanced spinning tops and the restrictions in force at the arena. Voiced by Tōru Nara in the 2011 series and Kohei Kowada in the 1999 one.
