Synopsis
Ira Gamagoori is one of the main characters of Kill la Kill, a member of the student council's Elite Four and head of Honnouji Academy's disciplinary committee. A massive, fiercely loyal enforcer for Satsuki Kiryuuin, he refers to himself as her impenetrable shield.
Of the entire Elite Four, Gamagoori is by far the most openly devoted to Satsuki: stern, intolerant of rule-breaking, and always ready to discipline even the most defiant students. For all his severity, he never harms an innocent student and is quick to help when needed, once giving Ryuuko Matoi and Mako a ride after their scooter ran out of fuel.
He first met Satsuki as a teenager in junior high, when she single-handedly stopped a group of bullies tormenting an innocent boy. Struck by her resolve, Gamagoori challenged her and lost, but impressed her enough with his own determination that the two became allies, and eventually close friends.
