Elaine

Elaine is the younger sister of the Fairy King King and, for centuries, the Holy Maiden charged with guarding the Fountain of Youth in the Fairy King's Forest. Gentle and open-minded despite her people's general distrust of humans, she came to believe that all beings could coexist if given the chance.

That belief was tested and confirmed when a young thief named Ban tried repeatedly to steal water from the fountain. Rather than punishing him, Elaine read his heart and recognized his lack of true malice, and the two spent days growing close before the destruction of the Fairy King's Forest and her own death cut their time short.

Elaine does not stay gone for long: she is later revived through demonic magic, though the process leaves her darker and more hostile until she is freed of that influence. Ban ultimately gives up the immortality he once sought so desperately to bring her back permanently, and the two go on to marry and have a son, Lancelot, eventually ruling together as king and queen of Benwick.
