Ban

Ban is one of the founding members of the Seven Deadly Sins, carrying the title Fox's Sin of Greed, and later becomes king of the small nation of Benwick. Before joining the Sins he lived as a thief, first surviving the streets alone and then learning to steal under the bandit Zhivago, who treated him like a son. His weapon, the three-sectioned staff Courechouse, channels his signature power, Snatch, which lets him seize an opponent's abilities or life force.

Ban comes across as reckless and greedy, chasing whatever catches his interest without much thought for consequences, yet beneath that surface he is fiercely loyal to his friends and captain, Meliodas. He has an odd habit of half-singing his sentences, a trait he picked up from Zhivago during his childhood, and he carries a lasting hatred for the Demon Clan for killing the woman he loves.

That woman is Elaine, guardian of the Fountain of Youth, whom Ban met while trying to steal its water to become immortal. Their bond grew despite his initial intentions, and after her death he spent years searching for a way to bring her back. When Elaine was finally revived, Ban chose to give up the immortality he had once fought so hard for so that she could live a normal life, and the two later married and had a son, Lancelot.
