Synopsis
Aya Ayano is a member of Class 3-3's drama club alongside Izumi Akazawa and Yumi Ogura, and one of the first students to warmly welcome Kouichi Sakakibara to the class. Cheerful, free-spirited, and prone to skipping class without much worry, she is noticeably more relaxed than the more high-strung Izumi.
Aya has a close, easy friendship with Yumi in particular, one built on small everyday moments rather than anything dramatic, which makes what eventually happens to her family all the more sudden. As the summer's deaths mount, her family decides the only safe option is to leave Yomiyama entirely.
That attempt to escape ends in tragedy on a mountain road, a loss that devastates Yumi and pushes her toward increasingly reckless behavior in the following episodes, underscoring how the calamity reaches even those who try to simply walk away from it.
