Synopsis
Isami Aldini is a 92nd-generation Tōtsuki student and alumnus who, by his third year, earns a seat on the Elite Ten Council. Born to Japanese-Italian parents in Florence, he grew up alongside his fraternal twin brother Takumi Aldini at their family's restaurant, Trattoria Aldini, where he was superior to Takumi in nearly every regard except the one that mattered most to their patrons: cooking.
Calm, jovial and easygoing where his brother runs hot, Isami still shares Takumi's genuine passion for cooking underneath the teasing and laughter. That contrast hides a deep-seated inferiority complex from childhood, when he once altered one of Takumi's dishes in a desperate attempt to match him, only to dull its flavor and be scolded by their father.
Takumi's reassurance that he needs Isami just as much as Isami needs him repairs that old wound, and the two twins commit to eventually running Trattoria Aldini together. After Takumi's defeat in the Quarterfinal Shokugeki, Isami resolves to grow stronger so his brother never has to face that kind of loss alone again.
