Illumi Zoldyck

Illumi Zoldyck is the eldest Zoldyck son, a professional assassin and member #11 of the Phantom Troupe. He entered the 287th Hunter Exam under the name Gittarackur.

His face is almost always expressionless. He has very long jet-black hair and large black eyes with no visible pupils. To become Gittarackur he drives large round pins into himself, restructuring his facial bones, musculature and even his voice past recognition.

For all that blankness, Illumi often speaks in a oddly cheerful, absent-minded register. He is generally stony and ruthless, thinking in extremely cold terms and weighing everything against his own interests. The exception is Killua: he holds a twisted, overprotective love for his younger brother, going as far as planting a Nen needle in him to guarantee his survival and obedience.

After Killua fled the estate, their mother sent Illumi to watch over him at the exam — which is what put him there in the first place.

He conceals his real strength flawlessly: not one examiner suspected his level until he revealed himself in the final phase. Hisoka rates his overall power at 95 points, above most of the Zodiacs. Voiced by Masaya Matsukaze in the 2011 series and Urara Takano in the 1999 one.
