Synopsis
Brain Unglaus was a mercenary-turned-swordsman of the Re-Estize Kingdom whose path changed dramatically after crossing paths with Nazarick's denizens. Originally a farmer with a god-given talent for the blade, he trained obsessively to surpass his rival Gazef Stronoff, eventually joining the ruthless "Death Spreading Brigade" along the way.
His confidence shattered for good in an encounter with Shalltear: realizing how utterly outmatched he was, Brain fled in terror, abandoning even his own subordinates, and sank into a despair that bordered on suicidal.
That humiliation changed him for good, leaving him a far humbler man. After Gazef died in battle, Brain took over his estate and began raising orphans to train as the fallen warrior's successors.
