Synopsis
Gazef Stronoff was the Warrior Captain of the Re-Estize Kingdom and the personal bodyguard of King Ramposa III. Born a commoner in a frontier village, he learned his extraordinary swordsmanship from the former adamantite adventurer Vesture Kloff Di Laufen, earning his captaincy by defeating his rival Brain Unglaus in the kingdom's grand tournament.
After Ainz saved Carne Village — and Gazef's own life — with his intervention, Gazef came to see him as a genuine ally and treated the sorcerer with real respect, though that respect came laced with fear once he witnessed how effortlessly Ainz destroyed the forces that had nearly killed him.
Fear aside, Gazef remained loyal to his king and his people to the end, willing to give his life in their defense. That loyalty ultimately led him to a fatal duel with the Sorcerer King when the Kingdom and the Sorcerer Kingdom went to war.
