Synopsis
Shuu Tsukiyama is a ghoul known throughout the 20th ward as the Gourmet, heir to the wealthy and influential Tsukiyama family. Outwardly a charming, theatrical university student, he treats human prey as fine cuisine, luring victims with practiced elegance before feeding on them at gatherings known as the Ghoul Restaurant.
Tsukiyama's flamboyant confidence is largely performance, concealing a selfish and eccentric predator who considers himself an elite connoisseur rather than a mere killer. His fixation on Ken Kaneki begins as pure culinary obsession — Kaneki's unique half-ghoul scent fascinates him — but gradually shifts into something closer to genuine, if possessive, friendship as the two are repeatedly forced to rely on each other.
After his family is targeted in an extermination operation, Shuu takes over as its head, and his loyalties increasingly align with Kaneki's group and later the peacekeeping organization Goat. What begins as a story of a predator obsessed with a singular meal ends with Tsukiyama fighting alongside the very people he once hunted.
