Synopsis
Shoko Sugawara was a classmate of Akane Tsunemori in her school years. After graduation she reinvented herself online as Spooky Boogie, a playful, widely loved CommuField avatar whose Halloween-flavored persona made her a minor celebrity — work she balanced with a day job at an apparel shop.
Though the two were never especially close as students, Sugawara keeps an eye on Tsunemori's career and is happy to help when Tsunemori needs assistance investigating a case tied to a masked figure known as Talisman. Her willingness to take that risk, consistent with the same playful daring that made Spooky Boogie popular, ultimately costs Sugawara her life. Tsunemori is left blaming herself for having drawn her old classmate into danger.
