Synopsis
Uzu Sanageyama is a main character of Kill la Kill, a member of the Elite Four who oversees Honnouji Academy's athletic clubs, including boxing and tennis.
At the start of the series Uzu is laid-back and supremely confident, always eager to test himself against a worthy opponent. A humiliating defeat at the hands of Ryuuko Matoi strips that ease away; he goes as far as having his own eyes sewn shut, believing his reliance on sight was his real weakness, and it is precisely this that lets him beat her in their rematch. Underneath it all he genuinely cares for the club presidents under his watch and is visibly shaken whenever a fellow Elite Four member's life is on the line.
Three years before enrolling at Honnouji, Uzu led an alliance of gang leaders across northern Kanto. After Satsuki Kiryuuin effortlessly crushed his army of delinquents and then defeated him personally, she invited him to the academy as a stage where he could unleash his full strength.
