Synopsis
Roichi Oryo was once a celebrated artist, but he loses his sense of purpose after the Sibyl System renders his kind of self-expression obsolete, and the resulting despair leaves him diagnosed with Eustress Deficiency — a condition tied directly to losing one's will to live. By the time his daughter, Rikako Oryo, is grown, he is frail and wheelchair-bound, a shadow of the man he once was.
Rikako's devotion to him is absolute: she reveres his unrecognized artwork and, in her grief over society's indifference to his genius, ultimately turns to murder in a twisted attempt to honor his legacy — a mission the real Roichi, an upright man who only ever wanted his art to be seen, never asked her to take up.
