Synopsis
Yoshika Okubo is a kind, sensitive student at Oso Academy, close friends since childhood with both Kagami Kawarazaki and Mika Shimotsuki, though her bond with Kawarazaki runs deeper. Behind her gentle exterior, Okubo is quietly suffering: after her father's death leaves the family in debt, her mother remarries a man who begins behaving inappropriately toward her, and Okubo endures it in silence rather than add to her mother's burden.
The stress steadily darkens her Psycho-Pass, and in her despair she turns to a classmate she idolizes, Rikako Oryo, confiding everything in tears. Oryo responds not with comfort but exploitation — seducing Okubo before murdering her and preserving her body as one of several grim "artworks" made from her victims. Okubo's death, alongside those of her fellow classmates, becomes a formative trauma for the friends she leaves behind, particularly Shimotsuki.
