Naki

Naki is a ghoul who spent years imprisoned in Cochlea until Aogiri Tree's assault on the facility set him free. Fiercely loyal to the man who trained him, he styles himself as second-in-command to Yamori, copying his mentor's dress sense and even his habit of cracking his knuckles — with his middle finger, in Naki's case, since he never quite got the details right. As Aogiri's ranks grow, Naki works his way up to executive rank and gathers a following of his own, a gang of ghouls known as the White Suits for their matching style of dress.

Naki's devotion runs deeper than admiration: he is largely self-taught, unable to read or write with any confidence, and it shows in his tendency to mangle unfamiliar words even as he grasps complicated ideas intuitively. Quick to anger and painfully naive at times, he nonetheless turns genuinely dangerous when someone he cares about is hurt, lashing out with a violence that surprises even his allies.

When Aogiri Tree falls apart, Naki unexpectedly joins Ken Kaneki's own organization, Goat, taking an executive role there too. It's an odd twist of loyalty, since Yamori's death at Kaneki's hands had once sent Naki into one of his most violent rages — a measure of how much has changed for a ghoul who found direction only by attaching himself to someone stronger.
