Synopsis
Menchi is a Gourmet Hunter and the examiner of the Second Phase of the 287th Hunter Exam, paired with Buhara. Her condition was simple: cook a dish that satisfies both examiners.
She ties the back of her hair into five topknots and wears a bikini top under a mesh shirt with denim shorts. Her physique is athletic by necessity — hunting down rare ingredients tends to happen in dangerous places.
The first thing anyone notices about Menchi is how picky she is, though for one of the world's finest Gourmet Hunters that is a qualification rather than a flaw. A quick temper runs alongside genuine enthusiasm for cooking; she is regarded as a culinary prodigy and earned a Single-Star Hunter License remarkably young. She has some respect for authority, but not enough to keep quiet when she disagrees.
Her standards nearly derailed the entire exam — not a single applicant's dish satisfied her. Voiced by Aya Hirano in the 2011 adaptation and Akari Hibino in the 1999 one.
