Synopsis
Aki Matsui is a shy, reserved student almost always found alongside her best friend Kyouko Kaneki, who tends to comfort her whenever anxiety gets the better of her. Quiet and calm most of the time, Aki also has an active side, sharing an interest in sports with Kyouko.
The two share a room together on the class trip, and when disaster strikes the inn, Aki relies on Kyouko to keep her steady rather than acting on her own, a dynamic consistent with how the friendship has worked throughout the story.
That dependence proves devastating once the two are separated by violence during the trip: alone and terrified, Aki encounters Kouichi Sakakibara moments before her own death, one of the class trip's most abrupt losses.
