Mahito

Mahito is a special grade cursed spirit and major antagonist allied with Kenjaku, leading his own small group that includes Jogo, Hanami and Dagon in a shared goal: the eradication of humanity and its replacement with cursed spirits.

Immature and sadistic, Mahito delights in toying with human emotions and genuinely believes he was born from the accumulated hatred people feel for one another — which makes him, in his own mind, the purest expression of humanity there is. Where Jogo is short-tempered and openly arrogant, Mahito stays calm and almost playful even in the middle of a fight, though the two agree completely on where their kind's future should lead. He is also unexpectedly philosophical, fascinated by the idea that the human soul exists independently of the body — an obsession that directly shaped his Idle Transfiguration technique, which he uses to experiment on victims in pursuit of that knowledge. Beneath the cruelty, he shows real warmth toward his own group, protecting Hanami and scolding Kenjaku whenever Jogo is put at needless risk.
