Synopsis
Komugi is the World Gungi Champion and the one person who changed Meruem. Blind from birth, she keeps her eyes shut, opening them only to play.
She is a girl with messy white hair, two portions of it worked into ponytails, and thick dark eyebrows. She wears a pink tunic over a white long-sleeved shirt, and carries a walking stick into the Royal Palace of East Gorteau.
She is childish, clumsy and simple-minded, prone to talking too much, and her speech is informal and ungrammatical. Common knowledge escapes her at times, yet at gungi she is brilliant and takes enormous pleasure in the game. She talks herself down constantly while remaining friendly and polite to everyone — when a hawk attacked her she refrained from calling for help rather than inconvenience anyone.
She was born into a family of twelve in the Republic of East Gorteau. On turning professional she resolved to kill herself if she ever lost. That vow implies she has never lost an official game — not even Meruem, for all his superhuman intellect, managed to beat her once.
Ten years before meeting the King she devised a move called "Kokoriko" that became wildly popular — and countered it herself the following year when it was played against her. Voiced by Aya Endō.
