Synopsis
Jean Kirstein is a graduate of the 104th Training Corps, where he ranked sixth, hailing from Wall Rose's Trost District. He originally joined the military hoping for a safe, peaceful life in the Military Police Brigade, but ultimately found himself in the Survey Corps instead, eventually commanding his own squad during the Raid on Liberio.
Blunt and unafraid to speak his mind even when it stirs conflict, Jean is also deeply pragmatic, openly admitting his early desire to avoid danger. As a trainee he was hot-headed and cynical about humanity's chances against the Titans, mocking more idealistic soldiers like Eren Yeager — yet Marco Bott recognized a natural leader in him, a judgment proven right when Jean rallies his confused, leaderless comrades during the Battle of Trost District.
