Hisashi Kinoshita

Hisashi Kinoshita is a substitute wing spiker and pinch server for Karasuno High. Along with Ennoshita and Narita, he briefly left the volleyball club as a first-year, unable to keep up with the grueling training under Ikkei Ukai, only to return and find the coach already hospitalized again — which is how the trio came to jokingly call themselves the Ungrateful Second-Years.

Kind if somewhat shy, Kinoshita isn't above teasing his teammates, including Tanaka for his habit of tearing off his shirt after scoring. He worries constantly about his own usefulness on the court, despite Coach Ukai personally praising his uncanny knack for putting points on the board. Through sheer persistence with his jump float serve, Kinoshita improved enough to make even Yamaguchi, the team's regular pinch server, nervous about being replaced.

As of 2018, Kinoshita works for a train company.
