Synopsis
Izumo Kamiki is the illegitimate daughter of Tamamo Kamiki and Soji Inami, and the elder sister of Tsukumo Kamiki. A member of the Kamiki family, mediums descended from the guardian spirit Byakko, she was raised at the Inari Taisha shrine and commands two Byakko familiars, Ukemochi and Miketsu, as a Tamer.
At eleven, Izumo was approached by the Illuminati after her mother's spirit weakened and was possessed by the Nine-Tailed Fox, which attacked both Izumo and her sister. Rescued by the very organization she came to distrust, she agreed to cooperate with them to protect Tsukumo, later enrolling at True Cross Academy to train as an exorcist.
Blunt, academically gifted, and famously difficult to approach, Izumo grew distrustful of others after years of isolation for her ability to see demons, keeping her distance from classmates except Noriko Paku. She is not above manipulating the naive Shiemi Moriyama, though the two eventually form a genuine friendship.
