Synopsis
Shouhei Fukunaga is a wing spiker for Nekoma High who rarely speaks — the manga gives him only a handful of lines, and in the anime he mostly limits himself to a quiet yes or okay. One tournament announcer even described him as the team's silent big-point scorer, which sums up his role fairly well.
For all his quietness, it was Fukunaga who once broke up a fight between Kenma and Yamamoto by dumping a bucket of water on both of them, earning real respect from the team's upperclassmen. He enjoys comedy, constantly coming up with jokes he never actually shares out loud, instead laughing quietly to himself in a way that occasionally puzzles his teammates. Unshakably composed even in tense moments, Fukunaga still visibly supports his team, once cheering on an exhausted Kenma after a grueling rally.
After graduating, Fukunaga became a comedian while working part-time as a restaurant chef.
