Synopsis
Soul is a two-star demon scythe who walked away from a family of famous musicians to enroll at the DWMA. There he was paired with meister Maka Albarn, and together they work toward turning him into a true Death Scythe.
On the surface Soul is laid-back, determinedly "cool," and reluctant to show real emotion. Underneath that pose, though, is a sharp sense of justice and a willingness to put himself in danger for Maka — most memorably when he lets the corrosive Black Blood into his own body to shield her from a fatal blow.
Soul eventually reaches Death Scythe status after claiming the soul of the witch Arachne Gorgon during the war with Arachnophobia, and is later given the honorary title of "Death's Last Weapon" by the academy's new headmaster.
