Death the Kid

The second son of Death himself, Kid is one of the top students at the DWMA and meister of the sisters Liz and Patty Thompson. Formed as a living fragment of his father, he carries immense inherited power but is not yet a full-fledged reaper — his arc is essentially the process of growing into that role.

Kid's defining trait is an obsession with symmetry so severe it borders on a disorder: a crooked picture frame or an imperfect haircut can send him into genuine despair. Otherwise he is calm, disciplined and proud of his lineage, standing in contrast to the brash Black☆Star and the laid-back Soul — though he insists on becoming a reaper on his own terms rather than simply inheriting his father's methods.

After his father's death in the final battle against Asura, Kid takes up both his father's name and his position as headmaster of the DWMA, becoming the world's new guarantor of balance.
