Synopsis
Asahi Azumane is a wing spiker and the ace of Karasuno High's volleyball team, whose imposing appearance sharply contrasts with his personality: quiet, gentle, and painfully sensitive to criticism — teammates describe him as having a glass heart. He once left the team entirely, convinced he had let everyone down after a match where every one of his spikes was blocked, even though the rest of the team never blamed him for it.
The falling-out with Yuu Nishinoya is what pushed Azumane to walk away from the club for several months. It took persistent effort from Hinata and Kageyama to convince him to come back, and returning finally helped him recognize how much he genuinely wanted to keep playing. Since then he has accepted his role as Karasuno's ace, even as Daichi still teases him for not quite looking the part.
After graduating, Azumane worked as an apparel designer in Tokyo, later joining Nishinoya on his travels before eventually returning to Japan.
