Synopsis
Mayu Arita is a high schooler and devoted fan of the idol group C.H.A., arriving at the Viginti still wearing her school uniform and carrying the enthusiasm of someone who built much of her identity around supporting others. Underneath the makeup and cheerful chatter is a person willing to give up everything for someone she cares about.
Her case turns on a brutal choice offered by Ginti: sacrifice a stranger to the void in order to bring back the soul of her idol, Harada. She hesitates, but ultimately refuses to condemn someone she knows nothing about, choosing instead to give up her own place in the world. Even as Ginti tries to intimidate her into changing her mind, she holds her ground.
After dragging Harada's lifeless body into the elevator, she tells the arbiters plainly that the decision was hers alone — not a life anyone else would necessarily be proud of, but one she chose freely, devoted entirely to the person who mattered most to her.
