Synopsis
Tomoe Yukishiro is the eldest daughter of a samurai who served the Tokugawa Shogunate in Edo. She was very close to her younger brother Enishi, who viewed her as a surrogate mother after their mother's death. Following the Shogunate's requirements, she practiced Buddhism and kept diaries to express her thoughts and emotions, which she found difficult to articulate openly.
