Tadashi Yamaguchi

Tadashi Yamaguchi is a middle blocker and pinch server for Karasuno High, and Kei Tsukishima's closest friend since elementary school. As a child Yamaguchi was frequently bullied over his freckles and slight build, until Tsukishima unintentionally rescued him by dismissing the bullies as pathetic. Yamaguchi grew attached to him from that point on, quietly setting himself the goal of becoming just as cool.

Shy and self-doubting at first, Yamaguchi struggled with nerves before matches and constantly questioned his own ability. Through relentless practice and mentorship from upperclassman Shimada, he eventually developed a powerful float serve and grew far more confident in his own game. A fiercely loyal friend, Yamaguchi will speak up in Tsukishima's defense when he feels his friend is being unfairly criticized, even as he often joins Tsukishima in teasing others, Kageyama and Hinata especially.

In his third year, Yamaguchi became team captain. After graduating, he attends college and plans to work for a home electronics company in Miyagi.
