Kyuubei Yagyuu is the sole heir of the Yagyuu family, raised as a male under the samurai code. A skilled swordswoman, she can hold her own against veterans like Hijikata Toushirou and Sakata Gintoki. Kyuubei once attempted to propose to Shimura Tae, with whom she shares feelings, often following her around and protecting her from stalker Kondou Isao. While she has a cold demeanor, Tae's influence is softening her character as they spend more time together.
