Nicholas D. Wolfwood

Nicholas D. Wolfwood is a main character from the anime "Trigun" and the film "Trigun: Badlands Rumble". He is a cynical priest who carries a massive cross that doubles as a weapon. Wolfwood serves as an ally to Vash, despite their conflicting philosophies: he believes in martialism while Vash is a pacifist. By the end of the series, he begins to understand Vash's views, though it comes at a heavy cost.
