Synopsis
Chiriko Tsurumi, nicknamed Tsuruko, is the quiet observer of the Super Peace Busters. She has a serious, logical personality and isn't shy about criticizing others, often calling out Naruko Anjou for her habit of going along with whatever the people around her want.
Chiriko meets the return of Menma's ghost with some wariness, doubting her intentions and whether she has genuinely forgiven everyone. She has feelings for Atsumu Matsuyuki that she keeps to herself, believing she could never compete with his memory of Menma. She keeps a hairpin Atsumu once threw away, occasionally wearing it when she's alone.
Chiriko attends the same prestigious high school as Atsumu, and while she officially ranks below him, she works considerably harder just to hold her place. Her given name combines the characters for wisdom and benefit, while her nickname Tsuruko means crane. By the story's end, a quiet warmth and understanding grows between her and Atsumu.
