Juuzou Okita

Juuzou Okita is the stern captain of the "Yamato," wholly devoted to his mission to save Earth from the Gamilus threat, even at the cost of his own life. He suffers from a worsening illness but remains convinced he will return home. Okita regards Susumu Kodai almost as a replacement for the son he lost in battle, deeply regretting his son's death. In the movie "Final Yamato," it is revealed that he was kept in cryogenic suspension until doctors could revive him.
