Synopsis

Kogorou Mouri is a private detective and the father of Ran. He previously worked in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Division One alongside Inspector Megure but was not particularly skilled as an investigator despite being an excellent marksman. Mouri has an inflated sense of his own importance and often solves cases unknowingly, frequently passing out at crime scenes. He is known for his sarcastic remarks and unprofessional demeanor, but he shows a serious side when personal stakes are involved, especially concerning Ran and his estranged wife, Eri. His infatuation with beautiful women often embarrasses Ran, and his obsession with pop idol Okino Yoko is a recurring theme in the story.
