Synopsis
Chisato appears only briefly in Death Parade, remembered as the childhood friend who moved away and left a gap in the close trio she once shared with Shigeru Miura and Mai Takada. What little is shown of her — a smile, a wave goodbye — suggests a friendly, easygoing kid rather than anyone with much of a story of her own.
Her real significance surfaces only after Shigeru and Mai die together in a bus accident. Waking up with her memories scrambled, Mai briefly believes she is Chisato before the fragments settle and her true identity comes back to her — a mix-up that hints at just how much Mai's sense of self had come to be shaped by the friend she'd lost touch with.
Chisato herself never has a case of her own within the story; she exists almost entirely as a name half-remembered by someone else, a marker of a friendship that faded long before either of Mai and Shigeru died.
