Aya Mitsuki is the main protagonist of Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games. An ordinary girl from a modest background, she earns admission to the prestigious Kuromi Girls' Academy through an academic scholarship.
Despite her humble upbringing, Aya is hardworking, determined, and resilient. She has loved fighting games since elementary school and has developed a deep passion for the genre, enjoying both casual matches and competitive play.
After enrolling at Kuromi Girls' Academy, Aya meets other students who secretly share her enthusiasm for fighting games. As she forms new friendships, she becomes part of a close-knit group brought together by their shared hobby, discovering that every match is not only a competition but also an opportunity to grow and connect with others.
