King is the S-Class Rank 5 professional hero of the Hero Association, publicly known as the Strongest Man on Earth and the Heroes' Hero. In truth, he's an ordinary civilian who unintentionally received credit for heroic feats actually performed by Saitama, and he counts himself part of the informal Saitama Group.

In threatening situations King projects an intimidating, calm aura, though underneath it he's genuinely cowardly. Widely respected by the public and fellow heroes alike, he has a caring side too, worrying over Saitama's well-being and offering him advice, even handicapping himself when they play video games together. Since gaining his reputation as the world's strongest man, King has grown remarkably skilled at bluffing his way out of danger, using clever intimidation to make real threats back down without ever having to fight them directly.
