Shoutarou Kaneda is a carefree gang leader from "Akira" known for his custom-modified motorcycle. He shares a deep bond with his childhood friend Tetsuo, often teasing him while showing brotherly affection. After rescuing Kei, Kaneda gets involved with her group of anti-government guerrillas in hopes of locating Tetsuo.
