Synopsis
Atsushi Kanamoto, known within Sword Art Online as Johnny Black, is a minor antagonist across the Aincrad, Phantom Bullet, and Alicization arcs, and a former member of the player-killer guild Laughing Coffin, where he partnered with the red-eyed killer XaXa and built a reputation for using poisons in battle. A year after Sword Art Online is cleared, his former partner invites him to join the Death Gun plot, this time inside Gun Gale Online.
Sadistic and openly cruel, Johnny Black takes pleasure in tormenting victims before killing them, at one point forcing captives into a fight-to-the-death game with the false promise that the winner would go free. His willingness to manipulate and betray extends even to his own allies, working alongside Vassago Casals and his brother-in-crime Shouichi Shinkawa without ever showing genuine loyalty to either.
When the plot finally unravels, Johnny Black manages to slip away from arrest using a stolen dose of a dangerous drug, escaping the consequences that catch up with his co-conspirators.
