Synopsis
Yuma Isogai is a student in Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School and the class's male representative. Kind, cheerful, and dependable, he stands out for his leadership and his ability to spot the strengths in every one of his classmates, despite a fairly casual, often blunt way of talking.
Isogai comes from a poor family: his father died early in his first year of middle school, leaving him to care for his ailing mother, his younger siblings, and the family finances. To make ends meet he took an after-school job in violation of school rules, and that violation is exactly what got him dropped into Class 3-E.
Isogai doesn't get his formal introduction right away, but he remains one of the class's most consistently visible supporting characters, from rivaling Teppei Araki in the social studies finals to taking center stage during the Athletic Festival arc, where his leadership really shines through.
