Gendou Ikari is the Commander of NERV in the series «Evangelion», overseeing Project E and the Human Instrumentality Project. He is the father of Shinji Ikari, the Third Child and pilot of Evangelion Unit-01, and the guardian of Rei Ayanami, the First Child and pilot of Evangelion Unit-00. Formerly known as Gendou Rokubungi, he has a complex personality and secrets that affect his relationships with others.
