Matahachi Honiden

Matahachi Honiden is a main character from the manga "Vagabond," known for his hedonistic nature and childhood friendship with Musashi. After a dying Tenki entrusts him with Sasaki Kojiro's swordsmanship certificates, Matahachi assumes Kojiro's identity. Later, upon meeting the genuine Kojiro, he begins to identify himself as Sasaki Kojiro, acting as an interpreter for the deaf Kojiro. He becomes estranged from Musashi after a tense reunion, displaying intense jealousy towards him.
