Tetsudou Hisakawa

Tetsudou Hisakawa, nicknamed Poppo, is a member of the Super Peace Busters and a childhood friend of Jinta Yadomi, Naruko Anjou, Chiriko Tsurumi, Atsumu Matsuyuki, and Meiko Honma. As a child he deeply admired Jinta and always felt grateful that the group accepted him despite being an awkward kid.

In the present, Tetsudou has grown into a mellow, worldly young man who dropped out of school and now travels, funding his trips with odd part-time jobs, staying at the group's old clubhouse whenever he's back home. He's the first to believe, without hesitation, that the ghost Jinta sees is really Menma, and the first to promise he'll help her spirit find peace. When arguments break out within the group, it's usually Tetsudou who steps in to smooth things over.

Behind his easygoing manner, Tetsudou carries a deep sense of guilt over his part in the accident that led to Menma's death. He keeps a small pouch around his neck holding flowers that bloomed near the spot where she died — the same flowers that gave the story its title.
