Synopsis

Rei Hino is an elegant miko (shrine maiden) who can sense and dispel evil even in civilian form due to her role as a Shintô priestess. When transformed into Sailor Mars, she can manipulate fire. Rei is serious and focused, though she often gets annoyed by Usagi's flightiness; nevertheless, she cares for her deeply. Initially portrayed as boy-crazy in the early anime, she shows no interest in romance in both the manga and live-action adaptations.
