Chiyoko Fujiwara

Chiyoko Fujiwara is the main character in "Sennen Joyuu." Growing up during World War II in Japan, she ran a sweets shop with her controlling mother. Chiyoko is approached to act in a film, but her mother declines the offer. After meeting a mysterious man who helps her, Chiyoko promises to return his key, which represents something important to him, driving her to pursue a career in film.
