Bunta Fujiwara is the owner of a tofu shop in Akina and the father of Takumi. Once the top downhill racer at Mt. Akina, he now focuses on guiding his son's racing development. Bunta is the original driver of the mysterious AE86, which holds the record for the fastest downhill time at Akina. He has a unique training method for Takumi, where he gives him a cup of water to hold while driving, forcing him to drive smoothly.
