Daikoku

Daikoku is Kofuku's shinki and guidepost, and about as different from her in temperament as a partner could be: tall, gruff, and intimidating at first glance, with a vessel form as unassuming as a plain black hand fan. He is the one who actually keeps their household functional, reining in Kofuku's wilder impulses while quietly doing most of the real work.

The stern exterior mostly serves as a defense of the people he loves. Around Kofuku specifically he softens considerably, showing an open, almost domestic affection that goes well beyond ordinary duty toward a master. He is also protective and aggressive on her behalf when she is threatened, willing to risk himself without hesitation. A quieter detail rounds him out: Daikoku has a genuine soft spot for children, and by several accounts would have liked, in another life, to have been a father himself.
