Synopsis
Izumi Curtis, originally Izumi Harnet, is the teacher of Ed and Alphonse Elric in "Fullmetal Alchemist". After the death of the brothers' mother, she agreed to train them in alchemy using methods derived from her own experiences. Izumi views the Elrics as her sons, and although she severed her teacher-student ties with them due to their attempts at human transmutation, she continues to support them. Her violent methods of punishment and sparring instill fear in the brothers, and her line "I'm a housewife!" became a favorite scene for the creator to illustrate.
