Synopsis
Calcifer is a fallen star captured by Howl, who struck a deal to avoid death. In exchange for his heart, Howl gained access to Calcifer's considerable powers, but both grew dissatisfied with their arrangement. When Sophie Hatter arrives at Howl's moving castle, Calcifer recognizes her curse and offers to lift it if she can break his contract with Howl.
