Synopsis
Rei Ayanami is the "First Children" from the Marduk Report and the pilot of EVA-00. Shrouded in mystery, she is socially withdrawn and rarely shows emotion. Her only apparent human connection is with Nerv commander Gendou Ikari. However, as she gets to know Shinji Ikari, they begin to understand each other better, revealing more of Rei's emotional side and helping Shinji learn to trust others again.
